Position: Brake Engineer
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Redmond, WA
Position: Full Time
Compensation: DOE

Job Function/Responsibilities
• Design, prototype, test, and validate performance aftermarket braking and suspension components
• Calculate and document design parameters, project timelines and technical data
• Provide instruction and support to produciton staff and customer support
• Create detailed technical drawings of parts and assemblies
• Research, develop, and integrate hardware to work alongside emerging automotive technology (example: brake by wire, digital control, regenerative braking)
• Perform test fitments and various validation tests
• Develop procedural documents for both internal use and end user
• Ensure quality and performance standards are met
• Investigate and resolve warranty and QC concerns

Required Qualifications
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, related engineering field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3+ years experience in automotive drivetrain engineering or brake engineering field
• Ability to legally work in the United States and travel internationally
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Solidworks)
• Proficiency using mechanical and structural analysis software (Solidworks FEA, Ansys, etc.)
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and hydraulics
• Proficiency in conventional and/or digital fabrication and production techniques (CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, welding etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Additional Preferences
• M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, related engineering field, or equivalent working experience
• Experience with DOT, FMVSS, SAE, TUV
• Experience with braking system design and performance vehicle design
• E.I.T. or P.E. certifications
• Six-Sigma certifications
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work through language barriers and with international partners
• Ability to work efficiently in both a solo project-based and team-based environment
• Willingness to travel domesticaly and internationally
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, plating/coating technology, and forging technology
