From November 4th-7th, 2014, the Sparta Evolution team had the opportunity to be exhibitors for the SEMA Show 2014. For those who do not know what the SEMA Show is, it is the largest automotive trade show event in North America. The event hosts all individuals of the automotive industry to come together to view the latest and greatest products. The event is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV and is not open to the general public. This was our first year as an exhibitor and let us be the first to tell you that it was fun, yet a lot of hard work. We were placed in the new comers location, which was separate from the main halls, but that did not deter us from doing our best to meet with potential clients and partners.
Those who stopped by our booth were blown away by the quality and overall aesthetics of our brakes. This was a common theme for our product. Many of the show attendees really appreciated the fact that our brakes are able to perform and look good at the same time. Everyone who talked to our team really got to know the product and what we are all about. Being a relatively new company, they were surprised to find out the amount of dedication and time that we’ve invested in our brakes. One of the show attendees described us as, “being more organized, knowledgeable, and excited” about our product than a lot of new companies and pre-existing ones.
Our goal for our first year of SEMA was to make an impression and to do so, not only did we have a booth, we had three different vehicles displayed at SEMA with our brakes on them. We had Michael Lewis coordinating with HG Motorsports display his wide body BMW 335i track car, our sponsor Formula Drift driver Chris Jeanneret displaying his Honda S2000 drift car in the Vibrant Performance booth, and one of our dealers, FAST Passion Auto had their fully carbon fiber BMW Z4M displayed outside in the Nitto Tire booth.
Our choice to exhibit at SEMA wasn’t only for everyone to learn about us, but for us to learn about them. We strive to bring the best product to the market and that starts with learning the needs and wants of everyone. To our surprise, we found out that we had won a Global Media award from SEMA themselves. For this award, SEMA had a panel of media judges that went through over 2000 new products. Winning products were chosen based on the level of consumer appeal that the product would have in the judges home country. Our media judge was from a magazine called Driven, based out of Saudi Arabia. This was extremely rewarding for us and it gives us more of a reason to get our incredibly performing product out to the market.
Overall, the SEMA Show 2014 was a huge success for us. It was a great learning experience and it really opened our eyes to what the market needs and what it wants. We’re excited to go into the 2015 year with everything we’ve learned and we’re looking forward to new ventures. We’d like to thank the SEMA team for allowing us to exhibit this year and to those who helped us get to SEMA. More importantly, we’d like to thank all of our supporters for motivating us to keep pursuing the idea of producing the ultimate braking system.
